Snow.
(This is the view from my studio windows)
We got it. And we keep getting it.
This is what it looks like in front of my house:
Some people ride their bikes anyway.
Some people go out running in it.
(This is me taking a selfie a mile or so up the bike path)
(This is what it looks like when I look down at my feet )
Som people ski and snowshoe past my house.
Some houses have huge icicles hanging off of them.
Some people make excellent snow forts.
Some people pour their hot chocolate in the snow to make designs as they walk down the bike path.
The cat is curious about it.
This is the path the most-excellent neighbor-kids dug for me to my car.
This is the sidewalk in front of my house.
This is the bench by the playground.
This is me lying down in the snow and taking a selfie, but you can’t tell I’m lying in the snow because everything’s white whether you’re lying down or standing up.
And this is me in the snow fort in front the Kickstand Cafe.
Snow.
We got it.
I am really, really, envious! I miss snow and weather other than 80 and sunny. I’m working on living in proper winter in the next two years!
Well, there’s always the HouseSwap and CatSit model! I wouldn’t mind a bit of 80 degrees right now! I just got a nice 2-month supply of catfood in!
WOW! That’s no joke!
I’ve never seen snow like that! I hope your keeping toasty warm!
We don’t have as much snow but it is 5 degrees with 50 MPH winds. Please stay safe and warm.
Eeek!!! Now feeling more grateful for the snow!
I like the cat sit model. I will send my cats 😉 lol
Great Chris! I’ll put ’em in the snowfort!
Its been 70 to 80 degrees in Las Vegas all week but it looks like you are having a great time. I even drove to the mountains last week just to see and feel the snow. (Not that I have never experienced it–I lived in Kansas City for 30 years–I guess I just needed a reminder.)
Oh, Deborah, I so feel for you. That’s what our winter was like last year. It started with an ice storm on December 22, 2013, and it didn’t stop until the end of March. This year, we’re just breaking records for cold Tomorrow it will be -26 (c) with a wind chill of -37, which translates to -34F.
At least you and the kitties have a nice warm, dry place to harp!
So far so good, Kate! Though I’m a little concerned about this next snowstorm. They predict another 12 inches, the governor has closed down public transportation as of tonight. And there’s high winds predicted, so I’m hoping the electricity stays on and working to get all my online work done today just in case it doesn’t! Sounds COLD where you are!
Well, well well! You keep on being fantastically cheerful through it all and for that I am (we all are) very grateful. Your pictures are splendid. The best!
xo
Thanks Rachael! Now, if only I had my Christmas wreath to burn on a big fire … oh … wait … I did that at YOUR house!!!
I feel for you because it’s like that in Buffalo, NY. Too much snow and much to COLD brrrr. It was -10 this morning. Between the snow and the cold I am ready for spring. I love your cheerfulness and humor. That alone keeps people like myself going.
Thanks, Julie! I do remember that every time I’ve come to play with the Buffalo Philharmonic it was always right on the heels of yet another legendary snow-event! So this is giving me a taste of Buffalo … but without all your incredible architecture that I love so much! – DHC
