On Monday, June 23rd at 11am – the 2014 AHS Conference presents “Strings of Passion” by Deborah Henson-Conant – music, ideas and humor in a presentation that is both concert and lecture, both listening and interactive for the audience.
It plays out 7 principles, string by string, using the unusual instrument that was invented for me – a 32-strings electric harness harp – to show how they resonate and harmonize with each other: These principles include invention, collaboration, leadership, structure, character, exploration — and lift-off, as an idea becomes reality.

About the AHS Conference
The New Orleans Chapter of the American Harp Society is honored to host the 41st American Harp Society National Conference! This summer’s gathering is themed “Harp Carnivale,” a celebration of our diverse harp community. Performances will feature solo, chamber, orchestral, concerto, and jazz harpists from our Southern region and beyond, including Deborah Henson-Conant performing her “Strings of Passion” and also featuring her Concerto for Harp & Orchestra, “Soñando en Español” performed by harp soloist Eleanor Turner & The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra with ?Deborah as Guest Conductor!
