Hello from Mozart’s Birthplace!
I’m here in Salzburg, Austria for a concert that is TWO dreams come true – a dream from decades ago.

When I started playing harp in my early 20’s, I was shocked there was no ‘show-stopper’ harp concerto like the ones I’d heard pianists and violinists play. What a massive oversight! How could this be??
I swore to myself in that moment that I would create that show-stopper and more – music for harp would set the stage afire with sound – and my dream was not just to play it myself, but to experience other master players play it.

In this moment …
In this moment – these next 10 days – I get to live both dreams almost simultaneously. On Saturday and Sunday I get to stand on stage with a powerful woman conductor, Elisabeth Fuchs, to improvise with a joyful, expressive symphony of musicians AND to experience my own dream of that show-stopping concerto – Baroque Flamenco – brought to life with power and deep self-experssion by my creative partner on stage: harpist Evelyn Huber.

And as the final notes are ringing …
Only a few hours after the concert ends on the street where Mozart was born, outside on the internet my 2023 Online Harp Improv Challenge begins – and I get to SHARE the joy of learning how to improvise with hundreds of harpists around the globe. Nearly 400 are already registered and the number is growing.
THAT, my friends …. is living the dream – for a kid who wanted to be a composer and then fell in love with improvisation and harp.
I hope you can share that dream with me – in the audience in Salzburg, or online with a harp. (and YES, my friends in Boston – there’s a show coming your way, too … stay tuned.)

Have a BLAST with Baroque Flamenco! I’m excited that next week looks fairly “commitment-free”, and I can’t wait to join you for this fresh-off-the-cool-concert version of the Improv Challenge!!
