My online Academy for harpists is all about learning ways to use the skills of improv, arrangement and performance to express yourSELF – and it’s incredibly inspiring to me I see people use these skills.
My goal in the Academy is to free each individual harpist from the notes on the page, so they can have a new, more direct, intimate, fun experience with music – an experience that’s about direct connection of fingers to strings, rather than trying to follow the notes someone else has written. (Nothing against notes on the page – I write them myself, in my own arrangements – but the Academy is all about going on beyond the notes.)
So, just to see how quickly I could share some improv ideas, I recently created ten 30-seconds Improv Tips as a personal 10-day challenge.
Give them a try – whether you play the harp or not – and let me know what you discover, in the comments below.

And if you play the harp, come join me at Hip Harp Academy and find YOUR creative freedom.
And now I’ll ask you the question I always ask myself, and every member of the Academy: what are your takeaways from this? What you can take and use right away to give you more freedom and creative expression in your life?
Share that with me in the comments below.
