THE WORKSHOPS

In addition to being featured in the closing concert, DHC is also teaching TWO workshops – here are the descriptions:

1. Left-hand Liberation (SAT. 11:15 AM):  Learn Deborah’s favorite use-anywhere left-hand pattern and how you can adapt it to create rhythms (like Tango and Waltz), use as an open chord for meditative playing, AND, use to accompany singers or other instruments.
2. The ultimate ‘DHC’ pluck off! (SAT. 5:15 PM): Once upon a time Deborah Henson-Conant dreamed of a completely new kind of harp that she could strap on with a harness and play like a rock star, electrify her symphony performances and travel the world easily with her instrument. Now YOU can try on that very harp, the Camac ‘DHC’ signature model – and get tips from DHC herself on how to make YOUR dreams come true with it: how to play it, wear it, travel with it, use the stand, dress it up and make it your own. If you already own a Camac ‘DHC’ harp, bring it with you, take a photo with your harp’s namesake and even ask her to sign it for you. Whether you already own a ‘DHC’ or not, come give it a test drive and ask the woman who first dreamed it anything you want!
