Forget the demure harpist! Deborah Henson-Conant is a showman, entertainer and a GRAMMY®-nominated artist. She’s been compared to musical greats from Leonard Bernstein to Elvis Presley, and she the world’s premier electric harpist, THE "DHC" behind the "DHC Light" Electric Harp.

She's a one woman orchestra with electric harp, voice and looper pedal. Her signature instrument is an 11 pound carbon-fiber electric harp, designed and named just for her by CAMAC Harp Company in France.

She's a cross-genre artist, a Blues-Flamenco-Celtic-Funk-Folk-Jazz dynamo. She tells tall tales with the ease of a stand-up comic. She solos and wails like a rock guitarist. She turns music into theater and theater into something lyrical. See her once and you’ll never look at the harp the same way again.

Deborah has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, The Today Show and NPR’s Weekend Edition, and in two full-length PBS music specials. Henson-Conant’s voice has been compared Carly Simon and Joan Baez; her playing to Chuck Berry and Jimi Hendrix. Her shows are tied together by powerful, funny, affirming stories and universal humor, moving her audience out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary. TIME: Workshop begins at 7:00 (arrival 6:30 - 6:45)

LOANER HARPS: (lever and pedal) available on a first-asked, first-served basis. If you've registered for the hands-on workshop and you'd like to use a store-harp instead of bringing your own, email direct to David Kolacny (harpdavidk@kolacnymusic.com / 303-722-6081) and specify whether you play lever or pedal (the workshop is for both). Instruments are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so please email him ASAP.

NON-HARPISTS? YES, you can attend as hands-on or auditor if you bring your instrument, so long as you know that there will be sections of the workshop specific to harp technique.

CAN'T MAKE THE WORKSHOP? Can't make it to the workshop, you can purchase the sheet music from Deborah's Catalog.

*Please note: If you want coaching with "Baroque Flamenco" - please also attend "Baroque Flamenco" Hands-On Workshop Fri. Night, Sep. 30th 7-10pm as it's specifically about performance aspects of the piece. There will also be a brief "Masterclass" interlude at the workshop for advanced players working on performance-level versions of "Baroque Flamenco," please inquire about performing during that interlude, for additional one-on-one from Deborah.

For events at Kolacny Music, please arrive early and check out the over 1200 titles of harp music, harps (lever and pedal), plus a whole lot of other instruments with and without strings and other fun stuff like metronomes (no, really - they're FUN), tuning keys, mouthpieces (not sure how you use them with harps, but Kolacny music has them).
