Look for that and lock into it you don’t have to play all the notes.
You can just play with your thumb

what bass notes are you playing?

17:05:07 From Mona Seering to Everyone:
It is hard but figuring out the inversion pattern that fit! Not familiar with picking pattern but having fun trying!
17:05:52 From Tara to Everyone:
I’m finding nice bass lines by changing the order of the notes in the triad (playing different inversions).
17:06:14 From Joke Verdoold to Everyone:
Got the rhytme, but can’t get it in your tempo and can’t understand the length between the phrases. Somehow when I play it in my own tempo it seems to sound oke. But no clue how that may be so.
17:07:12 From Cherrie Mooney to Everyone:
New rhythms adds more variety, fun.
17:07:31 From Harmony Harrison to Everyone:
I can play it at your tempo with one hand only, just LH
17:08:22 From Heather F to Everyone:
Lets start really slow and gradually speed up???? that will perhaps give the perfect speed for everyone
17:08:33 From Lynne Lapidus to Everyone:
I’m interested to know the rhythm you were doing in the right hand that started with a quick descending something at first.

AH! thumb on the right hand with each note of the left hand!
17:18:17 From Joke Verdoold to Everyone:
Right what I experienced, Lynne!
17:26:27 From Cherrie Mooney to Everyone:
I played by feel instead of counting.
17:27:04 From Belinda Hunt to Everyone:
when it got faster I simplified it very quickly, but that helped find new ways to enjoy the rhythm. It felt more creative even though it was simpler
17:27:37 From Lynne Lapidus to Everyone:
when it went fast, I focused on the left hand in octaves and figured out that I could descend the arpeggios in the left hand on the C C C F bar
17:27:39 From Lawrence (Phoenix, AZ) to Everyone:
Not a breakthrough, but it helped to play either melody or accomp alone. Like the snippet in general. Great way to be able to improv for a long time with variations.
17:28:11 From Mona Seering to Everyone:
Lesson on not comparing ourselves and standing in our own corner with a big Mexican hat on!
17:28:13 From Belinda Hunt to Everyone:
Enjoyed the chance to swap between LH / Melody
17:28:21 From Heather F to Everyone:
this is way easier than last time we did this – i can feel the syncopation better AND thankyou and I can now improv in right hand while keeping the left hand plugging along – amazing how we dont think we are getting any better when inreality we are…thankyou
17:28:49 From Heather F to Everyone:
woohooo
17:29:20 From Sarah to Everyone:
I came late in🥲. In the begin, I found it harder to pick up the slow rhythm. The faster one seems felt easier, because I could feel the groove?? Tonight I was a bit frustrated, I couldn’t join, how I wanted.
17:29:30 From Kimberly to Everyone:
I was able to keep up with the faster tempo if I left out a few of the notes with my left hand. When i played the melody, i struggled with the first few times but I finally felt like I could do it by the end—don’t know that I could do the two together
17:29:36 From Bonnie Berk to Everyone:
I was glad just to play anything

17:30:40 From Melinda Ostrander-Aviles to Everyone:
It was great noodling around with this because more notes worked with the progression. Everything sounded good. I just played I and V in the bass.
17:30:45 From Harmony Harrison to Everyone:
Keeping up with the tempo was fun — this time with both hands playing broken chords. Really fun. Couldn’t keep up when we were supposed to play melody, but the LH parts were great.

17:30:58 From Tara to Everyone:
I find it useful to play at different tempos. Very slow allows for more elaboration and more chances to coordinate the hands. Very fast encourages me to identify and solidify certain bits.
17:31:28 From Angie Smales to Everyone:
I kept the temp by doing slp base or rolled chord
17:31:56 From Anne Horton to Everyone:
I definitely got further with it when I just went with the “feel” rather than trying to actually count … when you slowed down and showed the combination of the right hand and left hand (after you spoke with Lynne) that was the breakthrough moment for me 🙂 yay!! Then I could speed it up (but not as fast as you!) ha ha
