The “Inside Jazz Tunes” Homework was to make a short video using the principles taught in the class.
The “Blues Harp Style” homework was to use the Module 2 Playalong videos to record and submit 60-90 second video.

There are two videos. the first one is one minute and 8 seconds. I am playing the chord progression to Up on the Roof with a quasi Bossa Nova style. At one point the progression changes to a vi chord with a descending bass line. the progressions feels a little lifeless there. Any suggestions?
the second video is the same progression. It is 20 seconds long. I use a different arpeggiated chord pattern there. Do you think one fits the song better than another?

I’m still trying to get in the groove. This video has bass, comp, bass, melody, bass, comp — or something like that. My challenge is to keep the rhythm going. Trying to keep the rhythm, make changes from bass and comping to bass and melody and back and remembering the 12 bar pattern … I’m just finding it extremely difficult to do.

I’m discouraged because I can’t seem to get it together! Do I have the rhythm right, for the most part? (I know I lose it sometimes in this video.) How do I make this work? i.e., have smooth transitions and sound at least somewhat musical?

Measures 9 and 10 were challenging. Not sure if my Bass Line was very interesting – I played octaves that followed the 12 Bar Form — Slap Bass is alluding me for now.

This is my first Blues submission because I have been away for 3 weeks without my harp. I feel that I have found my groove, but my rhythm keeps getting off when I change my right hand. I lose the slap base and count. I’ve tried with a metronome but because the right hand comes in sort of after a beat, isthasn’t helped.

It’s the whole play-along at the medium speed, as was written to do halfway the course of BHS M2. Since I couldn’t do more, I hope this is correct. With all the missing-moments it was fun to go along, sometimes resolving gaps at the spot.
