The Final Beginning Project for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to use the principles from the classes to create something and to share it.
The Half-Baked Project is basically a dress rehearsal for the Final Beginning Project, where you create a mockup, or first-draft of your Final-Beginning Project.
Module 6 was a catchup week. No specific homework was given.
The Module 5 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to continue to work on your repertoire and apply the principles taught in the class.
The Module 4 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to choose a tune and play it adding one or any of the following: Add 6ths or 3rds somewhere (or everywhere) in the melody; Enhance the bass (by adding an octave, 1-5-8, or 1-5-10). If that’s easy for you, then further enhance it with rhythm if you want; and Use a VAMP in one or all of these 3 places: intro, exploration, ending.
The Module 3 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to create a 5-part Arrangement adding 6ths, 3rds or 1-5-10 chords.
The Module 2 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” to APPLY the 5-Part Arrangement form over and over and over throughout the week to at least 3 tunes. At the end of the week choose ONE of those tunes and create a 90-second impromptu arrangement of it.
The Module 1 Homework for “Hip Harp Toolkit” was to create a drawing illustrating the 5-Part Arrangement form. The Extra Credit Homework was to play a 5-Part Arrangement of any simple tune or scale.
The Final Beginning Project for “Inside Jazz Tunes” & “Blues Harp Style” was to use the principles from the classes to create something and to share it.
