I need to remember starting chords (every few bars), but then the pattern flows very naturally. Also, the chords are rich enough that a “wrong” note often fits anyway.

Yes, I relate about Debussy – the first piece I wrote when I was 15 – the music teacher threw it back at me and said I’d copied it from Debussy. I’d never heard of Debussy, but when I heard Debussy’s music I felt that I knew what was coming next ….Still love Debussy above all….
