I am having trouble in loosing my glasses during the head banging  passages. How can I ever get back to being serious????

This came out too dark so I don’t know if it’s very visible and I was just scrawling it out on a piece of paper.  Everything about it is imperfect!  I would like to learn a basic version of Cosina Latina, not great at learning by ear, looked at the few written resources, sussing out the scale Cm and the melody and where the V chords are anyway where the B goes up to natural; only see one ii-V-i set. I noticed the 4 emphatic chords at the end of the 2nd line of the melody and 1 or 2 emphatic chords only at the end of the 1st line. I see that there’s a bridge I don’t get, multiple repetition of melody and bridge or cadenza with rhythmic slapping or strumming.  That’s all I’ve got.

  1. what strikes you in this video as helpful or potentially not helpful to my ongoing learning of BF in how I have represented bones in sub-90 secs?2. Struggled with how to work in B lever raises with left hand ahead of cadenza when LH was occupied!

I hope it’s there! The tech side was challenging- I seemed to have to create a channel before I could upload? Almost gave up on it as I don’t enjoy the tech especially when I get stuck at 10pm despite video tutorials

I am totally embarrassed to show anyone this video.  My attempt is to get the idea of the piece, but I don’t know it well enough to play the right notes!  The worst part is the flamenco part, which doesn’t communicate anything but wrong notes!  I tried to end the piece looking pleased with my performance.  What a stretch!

A brief run through of the form. Maybe it’s just because I’m doing a short version, but I felt the need to dampen my harp in places because it was ringing over the melody part.

I cannot seem to videotape myself- I really am more critical of the way I look. The part I want coaching on isn’t in the video, I’ve been working on the percussive part of the piece. Yes, please tell me is working with this.

Again, I had a very hard time looking at myself in the video. I retapped a couple times, tried to relax my face, I’m just not there yet. It felt more awkward for me playing it this way than just playing the melody and Flamenco parts as a whole. The whole thing seemed awkward to me.
I’m happy you said it’s not a critique, but feedback on what’s working. I once had a mentor said said she pointed out only things to change, you already know what you are doing good. Not very helpful.

I know i should See the Good things  i can  do, but i am Not happy with the video and with me. I dont feel the Flamenco in my bones and in my Expression. and i am Not at all happy because i dont get the rhythm well or i dont feel it. I still send my homework, because i want to confront myself with this and hopefully later See a difference with my next video.

Not really sure I have this right in my notes.  I thought it was supposed to be intro, baroque, flamenco 1, baroque, flamenco 2, baroque, flamenco4 and finish.  Couldn’t really figure out how to show without playing the notes.

I really can play the 1,2,123 rhythm when I play the actual piece, but doing this abbreviated version I got locked up in trying to remember how many reps I had done.

Im looking for flow.  I don’t really need to look at my strings, but I see on the video that my eyes are glued to them and I look grim.

This is a video of all the techniques Learned so far with some improvs.It runs overtime So I will have record as I frequently forget what I did the day before,
Not smiling because this is my first homework, ever and I just needed to plow through and get it done! Amazing. Finally, after three years the techno snail is catching up!
Need to work on a defined noodle pattern with lever change so it can be on autopilot.

How can I make this piece seem more fluid?

When playing a G chord, do I need to make B and B natural?

Changing my pedal for the B note was awkward and clumsy.
Also, my facial expression while playing wasn’t pleasing to me.

This is the melody and first variation of Baroque Flamingo.  It is very slow and hesitant, my mind and fingers aren’t together yet on this piece!

This is my 90-second sketch-of-the-form Baroque Flamenco.  I’ve included introduction, ABAB, cadenza, recap & ending.

My biggest challenge in this homework was in keeping the flow rather than thinking too hard about where I was going next.  (That and keeping it short enough.)  I tried to be obvious about the character change between the A and B sections;  how well does that come across, and are there moments when I’m noticeably dropping out of character, musically speaking? What aspects of this rendition packed the biggest dramatic effect?  (I guess that’s another way of asking what IS working?)

This is a draft arrangement for a repertoire piece Spanish Harlem

My draft of Spanish Harlem has an A/B structure in F, with 2 verses and I add improv on melody with a vamp. I use a tango bass and work a soft motif w/thirds on top. I am working to get the rhythm down solid and establish the blowing part. Does it work in this draft form? There are a lot of gaps yet. The rhythm is so important to nail down so I can play with voice. I am trying to get a relaxed cha cha feel on the harp. F, Bb, C.

i am struggling with two things. 1) Keeping rythym even and 2) getting my fingers connected quickly to the correct strings after glizzandos (which is also contributing to struggle #1)

For this submission, I incorporated the sheet music and the warm up exercises.

Intro: I tried to do the strumming. The last strum (the final G chord before the gliss) is the one I like the best. All the others before that sounded off to me. I’m still working on getting the technique down.

Melody: I took bits from the sheet music.

Variation: I used the 2nd warm up for this part.

I like this method of starting with the bones, but because it’s different from my usual method of just memorizing bit by bit, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed regarding where to go next/what to focus on first when it looks like so many things need to be fixed.

I struggled with getting from one theme to another in a fluid way, without loosing the rhythm as well as remembering how to fit the right bass notes with the melody. The strumming is the easy part.
