5-Day Vision-to-Action Challenge Next Steps:

“Project: Connection”

Session #3: Wed. Jan. 13, 2020

from the 5-Day “Vision-to-Action” Challenge.
This is a warm-up webinar for the class “Strings of Passion” from “Hip Harp Academy

Note:

1. About the Video: We had a technical disconnect in the middle of this session, and I (DHC) lost connection. I edited the two halves of the video together, but there’s probably a gap in the middle – and also Zoom recorded the first video at a smaller size than the 2nd video, so they don’t totally match.

2. About the Handout: We did not use a handout for this session

12:05:09 From Barbara Irvin to Everyone : Great idea, Esther!
12:05:13 From Melinda to Everyone : : )

12:11:24 From Melinda to Everyone : I have started writing pieces and have challenged myself to write at least one per month. Would do more, but I have a busy schedule.

12:12:30 From Melinda to Everyone : Thanks….Sorry, I have to go to a flute Zoom now. See you next time. Thank you so much for your inspiration!
12:12:50 From Lauri J Craig to Everyone : I have been told all my life NOT to sing!! yet I feel ok w singing when I play in hospitals & nursing homes,,
12:13:24 From Melinda to Everyone : Yes, that’s how I have gotten started.
12:13:30 From Ilene Miller to Everyone : Laurie, that is wonderful. You are probably bringing a lot of joy to people.
12:14:13 From Esther Le Muire to Everyone : is the Strings of Passion offered again this year-later on ?
12:14:17 From Kirsti Kaldro to Everyone : The Vision Challenging transitioning into the Strings of Passion is like a diagnostic – musically, and spiritually. I can see what I have and what I need. Certain things I feel that I don’t have yet, the way to get them is to go forward and build on what I do have. Certain concepts and skills can’t develop unless you are willing to be “not good” at them at first!
12:16:21 From Barbara Irvin to Everyone : I had the same thing and the harp started teaching me to sing and then I took some classes from Chloe and continued to practice with two different triads, so now I am trying to figure out how to sing with the harp. My type of singing so far is more like improvisational toning, maybe soul songs.
12:17:24 From Ilene Miller to Everyone : I was terrified!
12:17:52 From Ilene Miller to Everyone : I felt so incompetent
12:18:25 From Kirsti Kaldro to Everyone : There is a choir director – I can’t remember who it is, who invites people of all voice qualities into his choir – even people with voices that do not have conventionally “beautiful” sound, and his choir has the richest sound because of that. I was a voice teacher, and that pursuit of the beautiful sound was oppressive. When I stopped being a singer officially it freed me to other things. I am exploring throat singing like the Tibetans and Mongolians, even though that would be the “worst thing” you could do with your instrument, it actually is very healing and good for the throat chakra and whole self!!!
12:31:06 From Esther Le Muire to Everyone : as I won the course with ” 3 chords” I think it would be best for me to start with that for now -otherwise I will have too much on my plate for now ..
12:33:27 From Kirsti Kaldro to Everyone : Going over the Vision motif today was sooo helpful and connecting me forward to what comes next!!!
12:34:25 From Ilene Miller to Everyone : This has gotten me very excited to start Strings of Passion.
12:34:34 From Lauri J Craig to Everyone : the challenge offered more confidence & competence… and I LOVED your singing w the meditation!! thank you!!
12:35:13 From Esther Le Muire to Everyone : all the best to all !! good nite !
12:35:20 From Barbara Irvin to Everyone : Thank you. The best thing for me was getting to see and hear you telling the story and how you demonstrated the character string.
12:35:49 From Chari McHale to Everyone : love the improv and thanks
