What we did:

We looked at:

Creating a simple Video Greeting Card

Snippet

We played around with the song Gloria
Adding 3rds and 6ths above the melody and keeping a G in the Bass

We then practiced Recording a Video Greeting Card (Start your recording)

  1. Smile at the camera, turn to your instrument
  2. Play an intro (ie gliss)
  3. Speak a message of love to the person you’ll be sending it to, looking right at the camera
  4. Play a short song on your instrument
  5. Speak a farewell (gliss on your harp while you’re doing it)
  6. Stop the Video

You don’t have to use the above in the exact order it’s a guideline
Practice this a number of times

All of the above is included in the Class: Video Holiday Cards, which you can purchase as an individual class, at this link here: Video Holiday Cards

We also went into breakout rooms to meet other attendees and talk about what we discovered.

Please add your own insights, revelations, and takeaways below in the comments, even if someone else already said the same thing!  Just say it in your own way or say it again the way they did.

The different ways to use hand shapes which give harmony to the notes

What are the principles and concepts in this session? If you had to remember what you learned, or someone said, "Quick! I have to do an improv! What did you learn in this 'Harp Time Live!' session that I can use??" - What would you tell them?
